I have two loving parents and a younger brother. We have two dogs, a basset hound named Maggie and a Shih Tzu named Flynn.
What’s your story?
I grew in RockPointe being poured into by both my family and our incredible children and student ministries. I accepted Christ pretty young but didn’t make my faith my own until high school. My husband, Drew, and I have 2 sons. Our boys, George and Marcus, help make our lives an adventure.
What is your story?
I grew up in church and my parents were always faithful leaders and teachers of biblical principles. It was the summer before I went off to college that I truly understood that my faith needed to be my own. When I met and married Drew, he helped me see the Bible as a narrative and that every part of the Old and New Testaments point to Jesus. Understanding that the Bible is not just a list of good and helpful sayings gave me a deep hunger to study God's Word.

About Your Family:
Margaret and I married on December 16, 1995. We have two adult children. Our son Stephen is in the Army and married to Madison. They are stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Our daughter, Grace, is married to Josh and they live in Richland Hills, Texas.
What is your story?
I was born in Germany because my dad was in the Army. I grew up mostly in Toledo, Ohio and enlisted in the Army the first time so I could find a way to get out of Toledo. It worked! I did not grow up in a Christian family and steadily made a mess of my life. Then one day, realizing I tried everything else without success, I decided to try going to church. Shortly after that, at the age of 33 years old, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1994 at Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. I was baptized, met Margaret shortly after, and we were married on December 16, 1995. The Lord called us to ministry and eventually to the Army, where I served as a Chaplain. I retired from the Army in February 2022. The Lord's call on my life early in ministry and to this day is to "comfort, comfort my people says the Lord" (Isaiah 40:1). I look forward to serving the Lord, serving you, and serving with you.

About Your Family:
My husband Logan and I have been married since June 2023, and we have since brought into the family 2 miniature golden doodles named Winnie and Ginger!
What is your story?
I was born and raised in a Christian family in Flower Mound, TX. I accepted Jesus as Lord of my life at the young age of 6, but came to truly walk in relationship with Him starting in middle school after attending a Fellowship of Christian Athletes small group. Very quickly I began to fall in love with scripture and became passionate about sharing God's word with my peers. As a high schooler, I grew in my passion for evangelism, missions, and began to fall in love with Jesus and more. Due to high school being the time where my walk with the Lord was solidified, I have since had a deep longing to come alongside high school girls during that season of life.
I attended Abilene Christian University and graduated with a nursing degree, originally intending to pursue medical missions. Since June 2023, I have been working as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Baylor Scott & White, Irving. I have truly loved my time as a nurse but have since been reminded of my desire to pour into high schoolers. When the opportunity to work at RockPointe was brought to my attention, the Lord graciously made the decision clear. I am truly so humbled and overwhelmed by the goodness of God to get to step into the role of Girls’ Minister!
What is something about you most people don't know?

My Family:
I’m married to Abrie Champion, the most incredible woman who’s ever existed. We got married the week before we both came on staff at RockPointe. We also have a black lab(ish) named Abby. If you’ve got a kid who needs to burn some energy, they can come to play with our dog.
My Story:
I grew up in a Christian household. My dad played guitar on the worship team, my mom volunteered across multiple ministries, and my sisters and I were heavily involved in our youth ministry. Though I was heavily involved in the church, I found my identity in the things I was chasing after – sports, music, girls, etc. But whenever I found my identity in something other than Christ, God was not slow to pursue me. I experienced loss and pain from each of my idols. God would simply not allow me to give myself over to the things that took me away from Him.
Something Most People Don’t Know:
I was accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston to study jazz, with clarinet being my primary instrument.

You gotta risk it for the biscuit.

My wife, Chelsea, and I have been married since March 30, 2013 (Going to leave the date here for future reference). We have two whole-hearted, stubborn, and sweet kids Beau (Born in 2018) and Bella (2020).
What is Your Story?
Growing up I thought my purpose was to pursue happiness through succeeding in sports, having lots of friends, and having the freedom to do whatever I wanted. However, Jesus plucked me out of the abyss of trying to find hope without Him on May 5, 1998, when I heard the Gospel for the first time at a church service. From that point forward, life got harder, but Jesus and His people became sweeter. After moving around the Central and West Texas areas growing up, I ended up going to college at Dallas Baptist University and have been in the Dallas-area off and on since then. After serving on staff at a few different churches in the area and in Las Vegas, we are so thankful to have landed amongst the kind, passionate, and humble people of RockPointe. I desire to see the hope our men, women, teens, and children have in Christ spill out into the thirsty world around us.

About Your Family:
I am from Austin, Texas. I am the youngest of three with my two older brothers. I am now married to my amazing husband and have the best in-laws.
What is your story?
I have been a part of the church my whole life. When I was in third grade I came to Christ! It was later when I was in middle school at a summer camp that I really understood what it means to drop everything and follow God. I then spent middle school and high school serving in the church. I was called to go to the University of Mary Hardin Baylor to continue my education but also continue my walk with Christ. During my time in college, I went through multiple losses in my life, but it was the community that I was with that turned me to Christ instead of away. Once I graduated from college, I accepted my dream job as a special education teacher and relocated to the DFW area. I have been loving my life as a proud aunt of my two nephews and have been growing my passion with special education. I met my husband in 2019 and then COVID happened. We were able to grow our relationship and navigate the new world. In 2020 the unexpected loss of my father happened. I was wrecked. I tried to take it out on God, but nothing worked, and instead I grew closer to God. It has been an uphill battle with grief, anxiety, and depression. With the help of my family, medication, therapy, prayer, and my support system I have been able to overcome so much!

My Family:
Gary (husband), Audrey Kate (daughter)
My Story:
I grew up in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, a land of beauty, seasons and tall trees with both mountains and beaches within a two hour drive. My parents raised me to be forthright, hard working, self- reliant and fiercely independent. I went to college intent on living my own life without their old-fashioned confines and pursuing my dreams of being wealthy and having a successful corporate career building my kingdom of one.
My freshman year at the University of Delaware began by the Lord allowing me to have a front seat to the radical transformation of a dorm-mate from a life of self-seeking arrogance and debauchery, to an honorable life of humility and honesty.
This intrigued me because growing up, Jesus was just a word used between other words that were not intended to bring Him honor or praise. I mocked and belittled people who read the Bible as weak and needing a crutch, and saw God as a moral policeman in the sky.
The Holy Spirit opened my ears to actually hear the gospel in September, 1991 as Dennis Blondo shared his testimony. He explained that Jesus first came as the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world, but was coming back as a Lion. And that God provided a way for me to have a relationship with Him through the Cross of Christ. Conviction of my sin overwhelmed me and that day, for the first time I was broken over my sin and was born again.
Since then, God has been faithful to begin the long journey of sanctification, rooting out my selfishness, materialism, pride, codependency, fear of man, idolatry, workaholism and desire for control by helping me to learn what it means to be His child, sustained daily by the Bread of Life . I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good. And also have walked through many dark valleys including addiction, adultery and abandonment of a spouse, divorce, grief and the death of my father. During each of these seasons I have been led by the Good Shepherd, Wonderful Counselor and Prince of Peace. Life has not always been good, but God has always been Faithful.
Something Most People Don’t Know:
We have 6 Dwarf Nigerian Dairy Goats that we raise in our back yard.
My Trademark Expression:
You will never know Jesus is all you need, until Jesus is all you have.

My Story:
The Lord loves me and has been pursuing me since a very little girl. I finally understood the Gospel and started living my life for Christ at the age of 14. I graduated from Philadelphia Biblical University then lived on the mission field in Guatemala for just under 5 years. The Lord sent me my future husband while in Guatemala. He was from Texas, and it took him a long time to convince me to leave Guatemala and post up there, but it finally happened. We were married in 2013 and in 2020 the Lord opened a door for me to join the staff of RockPointe Church.

About Your Family
I met my handsome and talented guitar-playing mechanical engineer while serving on a worship team together. We were married in 2000, and Paul is still my guitar hero today! We have two amazing sons, Nate and Josh, through the incredible gift of foster care and adoption. Paul and I joined RockPointe while at Briarhill Middle School, and we met our precious baby boys because of families at RPC. Job loss and job change moved our family to North Carolina for four years (a few days after Josh’s adoption was finalized), and another job change brought us back home to Texas and to RockPointe in 2010.
What's your story?
I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home halfway around the world in the Philippines as a missionary kid. Jesus became my Savior when I was four years old and truly became my Lord during my freshman year in high school. A Bible study that year about the life, words, and ministry of Jesus became the catalyst for a desire to know Him more and surrender every area of my life to Him. The more I learn about God and His Word, the more I realize how little I know and how much I desperately need Him every moment. Graduation from high school brought me stateside. Ever since second grade, I desired to be a mom. I felt God leading me to pursue an education degree so I could love on whatever kiddos God placed in my path while waiting to see what God had planned for my life. I have learned so much and have met the sweetest people of all ages and stages through my time teaching in private schools, homeschool co-ops, and Classical Conversations. My two favorite students will forever be Nate and Josh. The biggest encouragement someone once told me was the description of life as a cross-stitch work of art. We only see the back side of the picture, where different colored threads and knots are everywhere, and it looks like a mess sometimes. God, however, sees the front of the masterpiece, and He lovingly stitches each tiny square, creating something beautiful out of things we may never fully see or understand this side of heaven. God loves us more than we could possibly imagine, and He is trustworthy in every corner of our lives.

I cherish engaging conversations and getting to experience “aha” moments through the eyes of young people. My Family:
Wife: Jamie (Married since 2006)
Daughter: Bryce (Born in 2016)
Daughter: Sanders (Born in 2018)
Son: Josiah (Born in 2021)
Dog: Descartes (Mini Schnauzer)
My Story:
I was born in Hot Springs, AR, and raised in a Christian home where my parents deeply valued being actively involved in a local church. I placed my trust in Christ as my Savior at the age of 10, but like many others, it took time for me to mature and those roots of faith to grow deep. It wasn’t until I was 21 that my life began to bear clear and consistent fruit of salvation. Much of my childhood was spent playing sports—especially select basketball. I spent my high school years in Paris, TX, and eventually attended Baylor University. My college journey took an unexpected turn (a story better told over coffee) and I would graduate from a different college before stepping into full-time ministry as a Student Pastor in Austin, TX. After five incredible years there, my wife and I made the move to Flower Mound so I could attend Dallas Theological Seminary, where I earned my master’s degree. It’s been a blessing and privilege to serve on staff at RockPointe Church since 2011.

My Family:
My family consists of my handsome husband Jerry (who I think looks even more handsome in a beard but he doesn’t like it) and our silly little boy Isaac. These two men, along with the Lord, have my heart.
My Story:
I grew up in the Catholic Church and though we were there every week, I didn’t have a relationship with the Lord. I feared Him, I prayed to Him but I didn’t know Him. In my late 20’s, I was searching for something but I didn’t know what it was. My search ended after two different cousins from opposite sides of the family and a co-worker all kept inviting me to church and it happened to be the same church. Clearly, the Lords hand was in it. I received the gift of salvation and have never looked back. The Lord has shown me so many different times where He’s placed believers in my path throughout my life. So many people had a hand in my coming to Christ.
Thankfully, my story isn’t over. God is good.

My Story:
I felt called to be a minister in high school but did not really consider full-time ministry until after college, when I served in the Philippines and taught in high school. During that time, I felt God leading me to go to seminary, which led me to move to Fort Worth and attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I had the opportunity to serve at two fabulous churches: First Baptist Euless and Prestonwood. While serving at Prestonwood, the Lord impressed upon my heart and my family’s hearts to begin a new church in 2002. We moved to Lantana and started the Church at Lantana, which later changed names to RockPointe Church.

My Story:
My family moved from Massachusetts to Texas in 1986. I had been to church off and on growing up, but my relationship with the Lord was casual at best. We started going to a local church in the HEB area and I officially accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior in 1987. A few years later, my world began to crumble down around me and I don’t know how I would have ever gotten through had I not had a relationship with Jesus. These days, you can usually find me dressed up in some sort of silly costume teaching the 1st-3rd graders during Large Group time! I am so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful church that lets me operate in my giftings and I am so excited to be able to give back through the website.

About Your Family:
I married my hilarious, handsome, accountant husband in 2004. Nathan and I have two amazing boys, Ethan and Caleb.
What’s your story?
I grew up going to church and I was very involved in the church youth group as a teenager. During that time, I don’t think I ever really understood what it means to be a follower of Christ. I thought being a Christian just meant trying to be a good person. I completely abandoned my faith in college and went through some really dark times. During my early 20s I was invited to a bible study by some teachers I worked with and I learned so much about Jesus during that time. After Nathan and I got married we decided to try out the church that was next to our apartment complex. At this church we were warmly welcomed by some amazing people there who really helped us understand God’s love and grace. We both gave our lives to Christ and were baptized on the same day. We are so thankful to be part of the Rockpointe family and we hope to warmly share the amazing love of Christ with others as it was shared with us.
What’s something about you most people don’t know?
I rapped in front of my whole elementary school when I was running for student council. I can still remember how it started, “Here is a rap for all the classes, looking for a great secretary with glasses…” THANK GOODNESS smart phones didn’t exist then. I can’t imagine how much I would cringe if I had to see a video of that performance.
What is your trademark expression?

My Family:
I am married to my college sweetheart, Blake (May 1993). We have a daughter, Lauren (born in 2002), who is currently attending Baylor University. We have an “empty nest fur baby” named Kit. 😉
My Story:
I was raised in a Christian home and came to know Christ as my personal Lord and Savior when I was about 7 years old. In my late twenties I joined a local, in-depth Bible study where my faith truly began to grow and deepen. God began transforming my heart through that study and the women who gathered with one common purpose of learning about God and supporting one another. I began serving through that ministry and would later be called to serve on staff at RockPointe. It is my deepest desire to provide an environment and resources that encourage others to experience the power of God’s Word, engage in biblical community, and strive to be more like Jesus every day.
Something Most People Don’t Know:
I was 100% tomboy until God blessed us with a baby girl. Now I’m 100% a girl mom. 🙂
My Trademark Expression:
“that could be a t-shirt”
Besides the Bible, my recommended reading would be:
One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp (to learn to live with a heart of gratitude); The Blue Book by Jim Branch (an amazing daily guide for studying and applying scripture); Counterfeit Gods by Tim Keller (identifying our “false idols” and replacing with hope in Christ)
I’m most excited about:
Getting to see and experience God’s faithfulness as He continues to guide our RPC staff and church family.
My Favorite TV Shows:
British mysteries!
In my free time, I usually:
I love to sew and craft with my daughter, go to movies with Blake, spend time with friends, and anything that involves creating something meaningful.

About Your Family:
I’m married to my love and best friend, Brian. We have a son and daughter who bring so much joy to our hearts. We love being together as a family, whether that’s going to the movies, visiting a theme park, being at the beach, or playing a game at home.
What is your story?
I was born and raised in sunny, Southern California. I was blessed to grow up in a close, loving family. I attended Christian schools from kindergarten to high school where I learned about Jesus, and I was baptized as a young adult. My relationship with the Lord is my foundation and my greatest gift. I met my husband while he was an active-duty sailor in the US Navy. I truly enjoyed the years of living on a base and being a military spouse. Shortly after getting married, we started our family, and it has been such a sweet journey. We moved to Texas in 2018 and have adopted it as our home state where we have had the blessing to meet so many amazing people to share our life with.

The Lord caught hold of me, and I accepted Christ in 2001-2002 after reading through an issue of The Mailbox Club. In 2009, I rededicated my life to Christ, and then got baptized in 2014. About Your Family
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Scott, since 2005. We have three beautiful children: Isabelle, Carter, and Sadie. We are originally from the West Texas area, but moved to Flower Mound in 2011.
What’s your story?
Jesus Christ became my Lord and Savior at Vacation Bible School when I was 8 years old. He met me in a time when I most needed him and protected me for years to come when he would show me his purpose for turning what the enemy meant for harm to his good and for his glory. For a long time I found my identity in my history, my actions, and the world around me, but the Lord showed me a better way. He reminded me that my identity is in Christ. He showed me that he formed and shaped the person I am, and designed a purpose of my life. After struggling with my faith for years through college and the early years of my marriage, God interceded in a big way. In 2013, God helped me reconcile my childhood trauma and healed me in so many ways. My journey of physical, mental, and spiritual healing opened the doors wide open for the call to ministry. In 2018, I started my Seminary journey and used the gifts God gave me to serve and edify the body of Christ. I graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in December 2022 with a Masters of Divinity in Christian Ministries. The Lord made a way for my life to give him glory and to serve the body of Christ to make more and better disciples. I am so excited to serve my RPC family.
What’s something about you most people don’t know?
This is really weird, but when I was a kid I figured out that I could write in cursive with my toes.
What is your trademark expression?
Awesome!
Besides the Bible, what is something you’d recommend someone to read?
For new believers, I would recommend The God Who is There by D.A. Carson. For those in lay leadership or ministry, I would recommend The Great Omission by Dallas Willard.

About Your Family
I am married to my wonderful husband, Max (July, 2023). We are so excited about the beginning of our life and family together!!
What’s your story?
While growing up in Austin Texas, I attended a VBS camp one summer (8 years old) and said yes to Jesus. However, I like to say that I fully surrendered my life to Christ when I was in high school at 16 years old. I hadn’t spent much time in biblical community up until that point and my faith began to grow rapidly as I attended Abilene Christian University as a freshman in 2019. Abilene quickly began to feel right at home for me because I found some of the greatest friends and mentors who loved Jesus with their whole heart and challenged me in my faith. That same year, I began discerning with the Lord His calling for me to pursue vocational ministry. So, I changed my major to Ministry and also became deeply connected at my church there. Later, I had the opportunity of interning with various ministries and discovering more of how God had gifted me. My husband also attended ACU in 2019, however, we didn’t actually meet until January of 2022 at The Passion Conference in Atlanta, GA. As we dated and were engaged, I visited Flower Mound a lot and I naturally became more involved at RockPointe as he serves alongside their student ministry staff. Soon after I graduated college, God opened the door for me to begin serving on staff at RockPointe as well. It is my passion and joy to be a part of God’s work and His desire for all people have a life-giving and utterly dependent relationship with Jesus.
What’s something about you most people don’t know?
When given the chance, I love to pick wildflowers off the side of the road.

My Family:
I’ve been married to Luke since 1999. Our one treasure was born in 2002–Gage.
My Story:
Jesus became my Lord and Savior when I was 8 years old and since then…I have been falling in love with Him more and more. I am certainly a sinner saved by grace. I thank God every day that my salvation is not conditional on my own merits.I attended a Baptist college and went on to finish my schooling at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. During those years, the Lord invested a lot of time refining me, growing me, and showing me what HIS plan was for my life. After seminary, I spent several years working with senior adults who suffered from Alzheimer’s. I love senior adults and still spend time with them today, but God was continuing to reveal more and more about His plan. This prompted me to go back to school for a short time where I received my teacher’s certificate and went to work with students in special education. When God blessed my husband and me with a baby boy, I decided to spend the next 6 years at home with Gage. I had the sweet opportunity to grow in my love for children and for serving in the church during those years. We both started school together—he as a kindergartner, and I as a teacher. I taught at Liberty Christian School for 5 years. One of the greatest joys during all of those years was watching children come to different levels of understanding as to who God is and how He fits into their lives as someone who truly loves them.I can’t identify a moment in time when the Lord said: “This is your calling, Christy.” The truth is: God has called me all along to love His people and serve Him. The reality of ministering at RPC is that it doesn’t feel like a job at all—but an opportunity to get to do something I love. Every. Single. Day.
Something Most People Don’t Know:
I love to spend time with Luke and Gage on four-wheelers, a boat, or anything that involves wind and high speeds.
My Trademark Expression:
This makes me so happy!
Besides the Bible, my recommended reading would be:
Anything Max Lucado, anything Spurgeon; Mark Hayes-for pianists
I’m most excited about:
Making music, watching children have the aha! moment about Jesus, creating environments that help children grow, partnering with parents to give them the tools they need to raise godly children, spending time with my boys, spending time with my friends
In my free time, I usually:
Watch the best baseball games out there (my son’s games!); curl up with a blanket, coffee, and a book; or have a good heart to heart with a friend
My Favorite TV Shows:
Scooby Doo!
Favorite Quote:
“Are you kidding me right now???”

I am blessed with two loving parents and a younger brother.
What's your story?
I grew up in the church and received my salvation in elementary school. I was fortunate to also attend a Christian school growing up which gave me a solid biblical foundation. While I was in college, I faced a number of health problems and that was the first time that I felt my faith was really being tested. God's hand was evident throughout and beyond these trials, and both my dependence and trust in His provision has been strengthened. It is such a privilege to walk each day in an ever-growing relationship with my Savior.

About Your Family
God’s plans were far bigger and better than I could have envisioned. I’m married to my steadfast husband of 14 years, Jason McMahon. I get to be a mom to 6 inspiring children who have likely raised me more than I have raised them in our super blended family. Our children’s ages range from 21-5 and they keep life fresh for us daily. We have one dog, Luke, and three cats, Gidget, Keeley, and Roy Kent. We are unbelievably blessed to have the most wonderful village of extended family and friends around us, encouraging us daily.
What is your story?
From a very early age I found myself in awe of God. I grew up observing and sharing in the compassionate faith of my parents in an ecumenically minded church in South Bend, Indiana. Unfortunately, the initial awe of my childhood wonder was overshadowed by worldly discouragement and a vast array of struggles through my teen and young adult years.
I am a prodigal who returned home, finding my way back to a renewed relationship with Christ right here at Rockpointe Church where I have attended for the better part of the last 17 years.
I’m so truly grateful that I have once again been restored to the awe and wonder of God I delighted in as a child, and am now able to trust more fully each day in His plans and promises. I’m insatiably curious, I have a heart that longs to encourage those walking through suffering, and I love how God continues to show me that what He allows he will use for our good and His glory.
What is something about you most people don't know?
I am a pretty big nerd, I love podcasts about theology or psychology, I could spend hours coming up with a good playlist, and I also send my kids way too many goofy Insta reels to show them I’m thinking of them.
What is your trademark expression?
My family would say it’s “Drink water”, “You betcha”, “Not until after coffee”, or “You’re only as sick as your secrets”. But, I’m going to go with Walt Whitman on this one, “Be curious, not judgmental”.
Besides the Bible, what would you recommend reading?
Mere Christianity (or anything by C.S. Lewis), Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene’ Brown, Everybody Always by Bob Goff, Managing Leadership Anxiety by Steve Cuss are a few of my favs.
What are you most excited about?
Reading so many books! I have a growing list of books I’ve been trying to carve out time to read and am looking forward to learning new things as a part of the RPC team.
What do you like to watch on tv?
The Chosen, Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Parks and Rec, and watching the best of moments of Family Feud
What do you do in your free time?

Married to Steffanie since 1994. We have two young adult daughters, Claire and Emily. Claire and Kyle were married in 2022.
What's your story?
Born in Mississippi and grew up in the bayou country of Louisiana. God captivated my attention at an early age through a book of classical art and Bible stories I used to learn to read. That early friendship grew through the experience of baptism at 9, practicing the disciples life with friends at 13, responding to a call to ministry at 16, and serving churches since I was 18. years old after an emotional profession of faith. Thanks to a dynamic church and gifted church leaders, I was introduced into the disciple life at 13. Reading, Bible Study and memorization, friendship, and worship music shaped my heart for God. At 16 I sensed a call to vocational ministry and tested that call before sharing it with my church at 17.

My Family:
Karen and I have been married since 1987. We have three children: Jessica, Amber, and Jeremiah. We also have 7 grandchildren, all living nearby, what a blessing.
My Story:
I wasn’t raised in the church, but I did have a good home life growing up in the Midwest. I didn’t come to know and have a relationship with Christ until much later in life. As an adult, I think I had such a mental block when it came to my spirituality. For years I just sort of dipped one toe in the water once in a while, but there was never any commitment. I really don’t know how it happened or why, and I didn’t’ have a big “ah ha” moment like some people do, but I eventually came to a point where I just felt ready to take a huge leap of faith. Shortly after that my wife and I came to RockPointe Church where we found it incredibly easy to get plugged in and my faith and spiritual life has been growing ever since. I love that I have the opportunity to work at RockPointe now and use skills I have developed over the years to help advance the Kingdom in my own little way.
Something Most People Don’t Know:
I was a telecommunications engineer and executive for 27 years, retired and started flipping houses, retired again and started a handyman business, retired again and here I am at RockPointe.

In my free time, I usually:
Chase grandchildren around, get together with family or friends, eat a lot, watch movies, and I have a multitude of hobbies: woodworking, fishing, hunting, genealogy, photography, golfing although I never seem to have any spare time to do these.

My Family:
My wife Leah and I have been married since May of 2015. We met in 2012 and were introduced by a mutual friend who said we should try singing together. The rest, for us is history! We began dating in 2013, we were engaged by the fall of 2014 and were married that next summer. A few years later, God gave us a sweet gift in May of 2019 with our sweet daughter, Ellie. They’re part of the family, too, so I’d be remiss if I left out our dogs Abbey and Penny.
My Story:
I was born in Memphis, TN! Remember the Alamo?
The summer of my fourth grade year, I accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord at a summer camp in West TN called Lakeshore. I began singing and playing guitar in the youth band and that’s where I felt passion for the first time in my life. Learning God’s word and sound theology through song was one of the first ways I felt connected to God and the church. Though I was very involved, I stayed on a slow growth path until midway through my college years when I began really diving deeper into God’s word and that’s when my life really began to transform. I moved to just south of the Nashville for college and began working at that very same summer camp and that’s where I received my call to ministry in 2010.
As mentioned above, I met Leah in 2012 and once we started dating in 2013, we began an even deeper faith journey where God began refining us, as well as stances we stood on in the faith traditions we grew up in. A big part of my faith journey was moving back to Memphis and starting in ministry while still in college. Some time passed, we got married, and God began refining mine and Leah’s hearts for believer’s baptism. We were baptized in 2016, and the very next day, we received a call to my first pastorate in Austin TX.
God used our time in ATX for great purpose. I was able to hone in my giftings, develop as a young pastor, finish my Masters in Theological Studies from Southwestern Seminary, and gain formative and practical experience to equip me for RockPointe Church!
God called us to RockPointe in April of 2020 – right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. What a time to trust the Lord!

About Your Family:
I grew up in Spring, Texas, in a Christian home with my parents and two sisters.
What is your story?
I grew up in a loving home, where my parents constantly pointed to and taught me about Jesus and what it looked like to follow Him daily. As I grew up in the church I came to faith at a young age and began my walk with the Lord. It wasn’t until middle school I began to really learn what it looked like to walk intimately with Jesus, and from then began a journey of spiritual maturity, one I continue to this day. I learned what it looked like to serve, love, and model Christ for both my peers and those put into my community. My senior year of high school my family moved to North Austin, where I began to truly fall in love with ministry. I discerned a call from the Lord on my life, and in response to that call decided to attend Dallas Baptist University. I went to DBU expecting the Lord to continue to mold me into His Image, and He did exceedingly and abundantly more than I could have asked. I continue to walk with Him daily as He reveals Himself to me and guides my path.

Greg and I met on a blind date in 1997 after my complaining to a friend that “I couldn’t find a nice guy”. We got married in New York, 2 weeks after 9/11/2001. We have been blessed with two sons, Jake & Scott.
My Story:
Growing up in New York, my family attended Catholic Church. I felt like I just went through the motions of my first communion and confirmation. It wasn’t until I moved to Texas after college and attended a “mega church”, that I learned more about the Bible and the Gospel came to life. It was like going from black and white to COLOR!
Something Most People Don’t Know:
God spoke to me when I was 18 years old. When I was in college I had doubts as many young people do…I knew God was the center of it all but questioned whether Jesus was the one true way to salvation. When a friend and I were discussing this one day on a road trip, I voiced these concerns out loud and the Lord spoke to me immediately by writing my last name, in large letters in graffiti on the highway overpass, and did that grab my attention! My maiden name, “Pompei” is not very common, so I know He was talking to me directly, telling me, “Yes, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light!”

My Family:
I married my wonderful husband Steve in 1998. We met when both of us were working at GTE. We dated for 6 six years before getting married.
My Story:
My parents believed in Jesus but we only went to Church sporadically when I was a child. When I was in second grade, I was invited to Cliff Temple Baptist Church by a friend at school. I loved going to Church and went multiple times a week (Bible Study, Church, Choir Practice, Wednesday evenings, Sunday Training Union, Church camp, etc). This is where I met Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior and was Baptized. Jesus has always been there for me, even when I wandered, He would draw me back in.
Something Most People Don’t Know:
God placed two special women in my life that encouraged me and helped me grow in my faith. When I was in 4th grade, I had a teacher with the exact same first and last name as mine. She became a special mentor to me. Around the same time, I had a Bible Study teacher that not only taught the scriptures, but she gave me books that helped me find that personal relationship with Jesus.

About Your Family
I’m a Husband and Father. I have 2 sons and a daughter. My two youngest are twins.
What's your story?
I grew up around the church, and at 15 I gave my life to Christ. I felt called to ministry in my senior year of high-school, but knew it wasn’t just vocational. After picking up photography as a hobby, I started to get into videography and fell in love with telling stories through my videos. Since then, I’ve felt found my place in using my calling to further the Kingdom.

What is your story?
I was born in South Texas and moved to California where I spent the first years of my life. My family and I moved back to Texas, and we have lived here ever since! I knew of Jesus and went to church, but I never developed a personal relationship with Him because I put my identity in being an athlete rather than a child of God. In high school, I began to take my faith more seriously but had yet to understand how to depend on my faith during hard seasons of my life. It wasn’t until college I realized how much I was in desperate need of Jesus, His love, and comfort. Thankfully, I serve a merciful Father who placed the right people in my life at the right time who encouraged me and affirmed who I really am in Christ! Because of the people and relationships I have, I am able to stand here today and boldly proclaim my faith and show the love of Jesus!

What is your story?
For a lot of my life, I had a mostly intellectual faith that knew a lot but didn’t actually engage in a personal relationship with Jesus. My identity was defined by my performance, which can go pretty well when performance is good. But it will eventually fall. Throughout my time playing college football at Ouachita Baptist, injuries and other factors did just that. During that time, the Lord patiently transformed my heart and mind to be defined by grace and not by anything I can do. As He did this, I became more and more passionate about the transformation that was taking place in me. And in early 2023, I felt the Lord urging me to pursue ministry in a greater capacity. That summer I interned for a church in Little Rock, and during the school year I had the opportunity to lead the FCA on campus and a weekly bible study for the football players. I’m thrilled to be on staff now to learn and serve with an amazing community at Rockpointe.
