We invite you to participate in this monthly serving opportunity. On the last Sunday of each month, we will distribute lists after each service. Each list will indicate the community partner, mission, or ministry that we have prayerfully chosen to support.

First Refuge Ministries


First Refuge Ministries is a Christ-centered organization serving individuals and families across Denton County by meeting practical needs while offering hope, dignity, and compassionate care. Their mission is to provide relief, aid, and support for those experiencing physical, emotional, or financial hardship.

 

Some of the services they provide are:


  • Food Assistance
    Families receive groceries and essential food items through the Choice Food Pantry.

  • Medical Care
    Uninsured and underserved individuals gain access to basic medical care, prescriptions, and health services through volunteer-led clinics.

  • Dental Care
    Volunteer dental professionals provide cleanings and treatments for those who would otherwise go without care.

  • Counseling & Emotional Support
    Affordable professional and biblical counseling is available for individuals and families walking through grief, anxiety, trauma, and other life challenges.

  • Hope & Spiritual Care
    Prayer, encouragement, and Christ-centered compassion are woven into every part of the ministry, offering hope beyond immediate needs.


VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Food Pantry Support
    Sort donations, stock shelves, and serve guests as they shop for groceries.
  • Guest Services & Reception
    Welcome guests, assist with check-in, answer phones, and help create a warm and inviting environment.
  • Medical Professionals
    Doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers help provide essential care in clinic settings.
  • Dental Professionals
    Dentists and hygienists volunteer to provide dental care for underserved individuals.
  • Counselors
    Licensed counselors offer professional and biblical care for individuals and families.
  • Administrative Support
    Help with office tasks, organization, and behind-the-scenes ministry operations.
  • Photography & Storytelling
    Capture photos and stories that communicate the impact of the ministry.
  • Events & Outreach
    Serve during special events, donation drives, and community outreach opportunities.
  • Prayer Team
    Pray over guests, volunteers, staff, and ongoing ministry needs.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Pray for the provision of medical, dental, and counseling volunteers to help serve and meet the needs of the medically underserved in our community.
  • Pray for the Lord's wisdom, provision and protection over the staff as they serve and support the volunteers and the neighbors in need in our community.
  • Pray for opportunities for staff and volunteers to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ with the clients they serve.

Young Living Stones - Mexico

RockPointe Church partners with Young Living Stones to share the gospel and serve and support the communities in Del Rio, TX and Acuña, Mexico. For this year’s mission trip, we will be packing food for Feed the Hunger that will go to our ministry partners in Mexico, cooking and serving meals for residents in a special needs shelter, spending time with them, hosting a Vacation Bible School, and helping our ministry partners with community outreach. Young Living Stones partners with Noblasi Church in Acuña, Mexico that provides tutoring, Bible Studies, and other programs to help meet needs and share the gospel in their community.


Drop off items – June 1

We are collecting items to make care bags for the residents at Legado de Corazón and for the children in the Noblasi community.


Please note: It’s important to donate the correct sizes so items can be easily packed into the care bags.


WAYS TO PRAY

  • Pray that God would continue to open doors for Young Living Stones and their ministry partners to share the Gospel in Del Rio, TX and Acuña, Mexico.
  • Pray for God’s continued blessing of wisdom and provision for Noblasi and their Education Program and Legado de Corazón, a shelter for special needs adults.
  • Pray for wisdom, unity, and obedience to the Lord’s call among church planters that Young Living Stones is working with in Mexico
  • Pray for the Lord’s covering over the mission team traveling to Del Rio/Acuña June 30 – July 5, that they would be united by His love and that they would have opportunities to demonstrate and proclaim the Gospel with those they serve.
